This workaround was discussed at https://twitter.com/Piwai/status/1169274622614704129 after Google had closed the issuetracker with a WONTFIX at https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/139738913. Android GUI for WireGuard
This is an Android GUI for WireGuard. It opportunistically uses the kernel implementation, and falls back to using the non-root userspace implementation.
Building
$ git clone https://git.zx2c4.com/wireguard-android
$ cd wireguard-android
$ git submodule init
$ git submodule update
$ ./gradlew assembleRelease
